Saatchi & Saatchi London
A new responsive site for ad giants Saatchi & Saatchi, introducing a modern digital visual identity to the heritage brand
I was asked to oversee the design of Saatchi & Saatchi London’s website by my Head of Design, working into him whilst he oversaw the overall rebrand for London.
Working in a team with one Senior and one Midweight, and collaborating closely with our Lead Developer, we worked on both the UX and UI phases of the project, presenting work to key stakeholders within the agency.
As with any internal agency website, there were a lot of stakeholders with a view on the design, which was the main challenge here as we needed to take this on board, but also take on board user feedback. We presented frequently and used data to back up your rationale, which helped push the rationale behind the designs through.
The brief and objectives
The business goal for the new website was to act as tool for new business and new employees for Saatchi & Saatchi, whilst also helping change the out-dated and traditional perception of the agency.
From the brief, we identified that the next steps we needed to take were to identify the people coming to visit the site, review the current site with these users in mind, understand their current perceptions of the site and look as to how we could improve the new site based on the issues identified.
Setting up new foundations
Once we were able to understand user needs and current issues and perceptions with the site, we were able to put forward a list of recommendations to share with key stakeholders along with a competitor analysis report. From this, we were then able to build out a sitemap, moodboards and wireframes for the new site.
After presenting to Senior Management, we were then able to move into designing the UI for the site. It was important for us to have our client work stand out, so created a route with plenty of whitespace, using our vibrant colour palette as accent colours, and bringing in our clients’ brand colours where appropriate.
