Kallo

Creating a visual identity for Kallo's new responsive website

Agency: Saatchi & Saatchi
Role: Design Director
Skills: UI/UX, Design Direction

As part of Kallo’s new comm’s platform, we were briefed to design a new website which would aligned with their new campaign, but also have the longevity to stand alone as a brand website.

I was asked by my Head of Design to lead the digital part of this brief, working closely with one of our Senior Designer’s who was leading the print campaign key visuals.

I also wanted to use this opportunity to develop two of our Designers on the team by giving them ownership of a large scale project, whilst exposing them to a new skill set,. This meant being very hands-on at the beginning of the project, and then taking a supportive role towards the tail-end of project to give them room to own the work.

As the brand has a varied and large amount of products, we felt it important to run a card sorting workshop to help build the sitemap. It was the first time some of the team had been involved in one so was a great way to teach them a new skill in a very hands-on way.

Although the designs were well received by the client, due to budget constraints, the project was put on hold from going live. The project did however help develop the digital skill set of the team and and gave the less Senior members of the team exposure working on and owning a larger brief.
